Common Questions

Can instruction manuals be downloaded from the NewWorld website?
Unfortunately at present there is no facility for manuals to be downloaded from the website.

How much is a chargeable service call?
New World have their own fleet of Service Engineers offering full UK coverage and aim to schedule a visit to suit your requirements. Please contact us to arrange a service on 0871 222 2504.

How do I set my timer/programmer into manual when it is set in auto?
(5 & 6 button versions)
On your timer there are two buttons, which read "cook time" and "ready time". If your timer is in automatic, you can return it to manual by pressing these two buttons simultaneously. REMEMBER - if your oven is in automatic it will not work until the time you set it to come on or if you return it to manual.

Why does the top door of my appliance not have an inner door glass and the bottom door does?
The chances are that your appliance is a single oven and grill. Grills are used with the door opened, therefore an inner door glass is not required. However, if the appliance is a double oven then the top door will have an inner door glass.

Why do gas appliances have to be installed by CORGI registered fitters?
Any gas appliance must be installed by CORGI registered engineers. This is to ensure that the installation is in accordance with the "Gas Safety Regulations". All NewWorld Engineers are CORGI registered.

Should the cooling fan continue to run after the appliance is turned off?
To keep a cooler appliance surface, NewWorld has designed the cooling fans to run on for approximately 10 minutes after use. We design the appliances this way as there will still be heat inside the cavity when it is turned off. The fan runs on to prevent this heat transferring to the appliance surface.

What is the clearance required between the top of the hob and the underneath of an extractor fan?
We recommend that a clearance of at least 650mm is given between the top of the pan supports and the bottom of the extractor fan.

Where can I find the product dimensions?
Look at the product specification section of the website – this will give product dimensions.

Where can I get a price list / find out how much the model I want costs?
Prices are set by retailers, not by the manufacturer. In some cases, we are not allowed by law to give retail prices, or even recommended retail prices. We suggest that you contact your local retailers when enquiring about product prices.

Where can I view the model I want?
Retailers decide which models they wish to display. As there is a wide selection of products available from NewWorld, please call our customer service team on 0871 222 2635, who will do their best to locate the product for you as close to your chosen location as possible.

How much are your call charges?
Calls to our 0871 numbers cost 10 pence per minute at all times. These call charges are based on charges from a BT landline. Charges may vary with other phone service providers. These costs are therefore a guideline only. Every effort has been made to ensure that the information supplied is correct at the time of going to press (Sept 2007).

Where can I buy NewWorld products in the USA, Europe or other parts of the world?
