I have spotting on my DISHES

Are they Rust or Crystal in appearance?


 Rust like Crystal like 
Rust like deposits wipe off.
Possible impurity in water supply.
Increase amount of detergent
 

Quality or amount of detergent used.
1 Change detergent and check suppliers recommended amounts.
2 Check salt and rinse aid levels. It is advisable to use the same manufacturer of detergent and rinse aid.

I have difficult to remove white / yellow film on dishes

Possible cause - Hard water deposits

- Quality or amount of detergent used.
- Check detergent dosage to manufacturer's 
   instructions, change to a different detergent.

White film easily wiped off dishes

Possible cause - Salt from salt compartment, poor drainage, items not loaded correctly.

- Check salt cap is closed correctly and 
  salt level is correct.
- Check waste pipe is not kinked or pinched.
- Check loading of cutlery.

Matt colourless film not easily wiped off

Possible cause - Are items loaded / prepared correctly? Is a good quality detergent being used / how much? How old is detergent?

- Use pre-rinse facility regularly, scrape off food soils
   before loading, follow handbook instructions,
   if detergent damp, caked or old discard and change

Yellow / Brownish film on dishes

Possible cause - Hard water, Tea / Coffee or Iron film.

- Recommend good quality rinse agent and salt, 
  follow handbook instructions.
- Discard poor quality detergent.
- Don’t wash iron items in dishwasher.
- Deposits picked up from water pipe work.

Glassware shows rainbow colours,

milky appearance, scratches.

Possible cause - Are glasses dishwasher proof – Silica film etching

- Use a good quality rinse agent and salt, 
  load glasses as per handbook
- Silica film/etching is permanent and will occur 
  with any dishwasher or detergent.
- A lower wash temperature, using less detergent 
  will help arrest condition.

Smear / Bluish film on glassware and cutlery

Possible cause - Too much rinse agent

- Reduce setting

Speck on dishes / cutlery

Possible cause - Food particles / detergent

- Clean filter.
- Use pre-rinse regularly
- Scrape items adequately
- Discard poor quality detergent

Staining to inside of dishwasher door

Possible cause - Dry detergent on damp surface

- Load detergent as per handbook instructions; 
  take care not to spill neat detergent onto surfaces.
- Use a Dishwasher cleaner to remove stains

Staining to Stainless steel tableware

Possible cause - Contact with certain food soil. Dry detergent on damp surface.

- Pre-rinse regularly
- Clean food soils before loading particularly fruit, 
  mayonnaise and sea food.
- Separate items carefully during loading
- Remove items from dishwasher ASAP after 
  programme has finished

Silverware staining

Possible cause - Bronze tarnish, food soil tarnish, dry detergent

- Pre-rinse regularly
- Clean food soils before loading particularly fruit 
  mayonnaise and sea food.
- Separate items carefully during loading
- Remove items from dishwasher ASAP after 
  programme finished
- Wash silver separate, above all when the silver 
  plating is worn

Detergent caking in dispenser

Possible cause - Moisture in dispenser or faulty cover on dispenser

- Can sometimes be removed with a mild bleach solution
- Dry dispenser before use
- Do not overfill dispenser
- Fill directly before using Dishwasher
- Have faulty dispenser replaced / repaired

Black marks / lines on China

Possible cause - Scarred by knife blades or marks from metallic rims

- Can sometimes be removed with a mild bleach solution
